Bryn teaches Calm Spirit yoga, a style created by Bryn Walsh which is a holistic system of yoga designed to create stillness of the mind, inner and outer strength, flexibility and integration of body, mind and spirit.

The class begins with a breathing exercise to activate prana or life-force. Twenty-six postures are then performed slowly with breath and inward focus and the class ends with a deep relaxation.  The postures have a “yang aspect” where you hold the pose and breathe and a “yin” aspect where you come out of the pose, relax into stillness and feel the life energy flowing and integrating the body/mind.  It teaches you how to move from doing to being.  We are after all human "beings", not human "doings".

This practice has been described as "meditation in motion".  It is very powerful both physically as well as mentally and emotionally and is useful both on the mat as well as off the mat because it teaches you how to accept whatever arises in your life without reacting to it.  Beginners as well as advanced students are welcome to this class.  All new students will receive a hand out of the poses so that they can practice them at home.
